By Bob Burek The Jews were looking for a Messiah that would liberate them form Roman oppression. That is not what God had in mind. God’s ideas are in most cases different then men. Jesus came to free man from oppression, not oppression from other men, but oppression from us. And how easy it is for us to be free from oppression from ourselves. The gift is free. Just think; all we have to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and ask him to forgive our sins and we no longer need to live under self-oppression. We have little or no control of what goes on in the world around us. But we can control how we respond to the world around us. Our ability to do this is God's gift. When we find our lives spinning out of control, we need only to look in the Bible’s New Testament for the answers we need to sustain us. Just open it up and start reading and see what Jesus does in the midst of tough times. Follow His example. His responses work. Try it and see. The answers, from God, to our problems aren’t sugar-coated and don’t come all at once, but they work. No other advice or opinions do. Accept Christ and follow his word. Try it. His word will get us through whatever our circumstance. God bless you today and for years to come.
