God Knows No Strangers

By Judy Brummeler
jrae38@charter.net

Hebrews 13: 2- " Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it."

Our son and his six week old son were in an auto accident. A very tattered man in a very dilapidated car came to his aid. He was very grateful and turned to thank him and the man was gone. Our son felt he had met an angel. As we go through our day, we meet many people. We need to listen for God’s direction. We learned in our Sunday School class, "Sharing Jesus Without Fear", that our job is to live a Christian life, share Jesus, and trust the Holy Spirit for the results. Helen Steiner Rice says it very well.

"God knows no strangers, He loves us all
The poor, the rich, the great, the small.
He is the Friend who is always there
To share our troubles and lessen our care.
For no one is a stranger in God’s sight,
For God is love, and in His light
May we too try in our small way
To make new friends from day to day.
So pass no stranger with an unseeing eye,
For God may be sending a new friend by."

Sharing our faith with strangers does not take a lot of extra time it just takes increased awareness. Ask God to give you a new awareness for others and the courage to share Christ’s saving grace.

Jesus, Give us the awareness of those around us who need to know of your saving grace. Walk with us as we witness for you. Amen
