Everything to God in Prayer “What A Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear, What a privilege to carry, Everything to God in Prayer.” As many of you may know, the old hymns often speak to me. At this time in Lent, as I focus on my relationship with Jesus, I look to my prayer life and ask: Do I take everything to God? Do I spend time alone in prayer or do I pray on the run? Do I give him all the praise and glory? Do I ask Him to walk by my side and be my guide? Am I silent and listen for his voice? As a Mom explaining to her little boy about how to identify God’s voice she asked: "When you were swinging on the swings and Daddy called you from beyond the fence where you could not see him, how did you know it was him?" “Mo-om,” he said giggling, “He’s my daddy, I just know him!” The mom answered, “ Well, that is how it is with God!” Is that how it is with you? Do we take the time to listen and know that it is God talking? I am still learning to discern his voice. I am spending more quiet time and listening and watching for his answers. How about you? Lord, we ask for forgiveness for not giving you the time. We eagerly await the day to say Hallelujah, He has risen! We are trying to bask in your forgiveness and be faithful in our prayers and listening for your voice. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ·
